You are an Emergency Service
Are you a snow fighter? Or do you simply plow snow? It may seem like we’re splitting hairs, but author and entrepreneur Brad Caton would argue it’s not. How you see yourself changes how you react in a snow event.

A couple of things stood out to me throughout the book:
- Brad Caton and his team at Invictus only do snow and are profitable doing it.
- They see snow removal as an emergency service, vital to the safety and wellbeing of the communities they service and they treat it as such.
- I enjoyed the interview-style approach throughout the book and a number of the topics they covered like lawsuits, insurance, disconnect between contractors and clients, etc.
So often we see snow as a means to an end. A way to keep some of your team members busy year-round and keep them at the company. First in Snow shows that your snow operation is not only an integral part of a profitable company, but that it has the ability to be the only division of your business.
