Accounting Assistant 

At Nextra Consulting, we realize most landscape contractors are great technicians but not great in business management, especially when it comes to the accounting part of their business. We want to provide landscape contractors with the framework and coaching they need to increase their profit and grow their business.

Reporting to Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of Nextra Consulting and Nextra Network member companies, the Accounting Assistant will primarily be responsible for providing direct administrative and office management support to the Chief Financial Officer.  If you are looking for a entry level opportunity with fluctuating hours (24 to 40 hours/week) with a competitive compensation – we have the position for you!

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct administrative and office management support to the CFO, as directed by verbal or written instruction.
  • Review and prepare all documents, reports and other correspondence materials 
  • Assist with process Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
  • Receive and Monitor emails
  • Review all expense reports, invoices, and other relevant monetary documents.
  • Assist with report and presentation preparation.
  • Maintain a professional image and demeanor with all employees, and clients
  • First point of contact for any questions, concerns or suggestions for the CFO
  • Maintain a high level of confidentiality in all interactions.
  • Coordinate departmental office activities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of direct work experience in a Bookkeeping, Accounting Assistant capacity.
  • Previous experience in accounting an asset, QuickBooks Online experience a plus
  • Strong knowledge of general office procedures.
  • Computer literacy, including effective working skills of Google Suite, MS Word, Excel, and e-mail required.
  • Professional, responsive, and positive work attitude is essential.
  • Meticulous records maintenance skills with the ability to maintain filing systems in Google Drive
  • Superior telephone manners and excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to communicate with all levels of the organization.
  • Excellent writing skills, including proper spelling, grammar, and punctuation.
  • High degree of resourcefulness, flexibility, and adaptability.
  • Excellent teamwork and team building skills.
  • Ability to interpret and implement company policies and procedures.
  • Previous experience in handling confidential or sensitive information.
  • Strong organizational, time management and multitasking skills.
  • High level of sound and independent judgment, reasoning, and discretion.
  • Comfortable working in a remote/online setting
